Bottles and Handphones Collection at SengKang CC
It was a bright and early morning.
Hold on just a second. Where is this place with its colourful background? It does not look like NTU! That's because it isn't. We were at Sengkang CC for the collection of bottles and handphones. Remember our previous posts about it?
Thanks for Jun Wei, we were able to tap on the Family Day Out @ Sengkang CC to collect the bottles and handphones we required.
Everyone set off to work immediately.
What exactly was Yuhau doing though?
He was actually eating while everyone was working hard at cutting the bottles to size, thanks to the great welfare that was provided.
The morning started out rather slow at first.
However, things started to speed up as the day went by and look, we had such a long queue in no time at all!
It was really encouraging to see so many people approaching our booth.
Rei came by to give us his support. Not only did he stay and help out for the rest of the day, he also contributed by recycling his old phones and accessories with us.
Let's see, who else was there?
Recognise him? He's a DJ from 95.8 interviewing Jun Wei!
That's not all. MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, Charles Chong was present as well!
What a fruitful day we had!
The day went on and we toiled hard with new encouragement from each person we met.
Mr Ronnie Chew was kind enough to drop by at our event to help us.
Si Hui busy explaining about Nokia's recycling programme. She almost lost her voice from all the talking she had to do.
The number of bottles we collected soon dwindled even with the bagfuls of bottles Kenneth collected from another event.
We worked hard, we played hard.
However, we did manage to get our work done.
Hong Yuen was becoming such an expert at it that she could even solder the caps together with her eyes closed now!
It was soon the end of the day and we started to pack up. What about the phones collected that day?
It could definitely be more but we were still proud of ourselves for spreading the word about recycling.
What say you?
