Thoughts hours before Departure
Today is THE day. ("THE" in capital letters.)
What other THE day can there be? It's the day of our departure! Left with a few moments at hand, (I still have to finish my last minute checks on my bags - long journeys always don't fail to worry me...) I thought I'll post up some thoughts just hours before our departure. There isn't much time and as much as I'll like to write, I'll keep things short lest I miss my flight! (Most of the others on the team probably won't be reading this anyway. They'll be too busy preparing for the trip as well!)
I suppose I'll start from where Ecoventure2010 all began.
For most of us, preparation for Ecoventure2010 started some time after the exams (save for those who belong in the Ecoventure Committee where preparation and discussions having been ongoing for almost a year already). We have come a long way since then - you all know the details - the amount of things we had to do, the forum, the exhibition, the excruciating job of collecting bottles, cutting them while trying not to cut ourselves, putting things together, our performances, the teaching... Besides these, there are also the things we had to do behind the scenes, the things everyone don't see us doing but their impact is nonetheless felt and they are necessary to keep everything running smoothly. For this, I think everyone deserves a pat on the back because while I may not know exactly what you had to do, the poor lonely silent hours you spent awake working on your tasks while the rest of the world snores in their beds, I can sense everyone's effort to make this project a successful one and it is indeed heartening to know that everyone is doing their best.
There were fun times and there were tough times and now, today is the big day when we proceed from practising and rehearsing to actually putting what we're going to do into practice.
So let's take our first step together on this journey and may we ourselves learn as much as we strive to teach.
P.S. Pardon the poor grammar in this one - I do not have time to edit (as I always do) and I have to go eat my lunch already! See all of you at the airport!
(Wanying - this serves as my personal prologue okay! ^^)
What say you?
